On the writing front- Damn it’s hard to sit down and write when it’s so beautiful outside. I’ve been spending most of my evenings after work outside with the family and exhausted afterwards. This being the case, I’ve had a difficult go of writing for a couple weeks. I have been doing some writing, but not as much or as consistently as I’d like. I really need to work on that, even if I only write a couple hundred words a day, I should at least try to write something. I should try forcing myself to stick to a scheduled time designated solely for writing. No internet, no television, no lounging, no snacking, no potty breaks, just writing. I’ll start with a half hour a night and see how that goes. So from here on out, 9:30 – 10:00 in the evenings is designated writing time. Be a dear and don’t bother me during that time, not that you would anyway. You people keep some strange hours.
Also, I’ve decided I need to get into better shape. As such, I plan to run at least twice a week and at least 3 miles per run. Hopefully I can stick with it, because I could really use the conditioning. I’m not overweight or anything, I just don’t get enough physical activity. My weekly exertion is usually limited to a few hours of hockey each week. That just isn’t cutting the mustard, so to speak. I have no desire to pay someone so I can go in a building to lift heavy things and run in place, so the gym is out. I’d rather just go outside. I’d ask you all to come along and get in better shape with me, but you don’t live in my town and I usually run with music blaring in my headphones anyway.
As for my final shortcoming of the day, I’m failing on the nutrition front, but that’s something I’m not even going to attempt to correct yet. The main problem is I just don’t like most fruits and veggies, whether it be due to taste, texture, or both. I’m a very picky eater. I try the different fruits and veggies my wife buys occasionally only to find that I still can’t force myself to eat that stuff no matter how much I want to. Well, I guess if I can get the first two on track then two out of three isn’t bad. I don’t eat particularly unhealthy, but healthy eating is far from my forte. Hooray for daily vitamins.
