I’m planning to put a bit more into my blog this year. Really, give it the old college try, dontcha know? It won’t be a daily thing so don’t get the wrong idea, I’m not crazy. Well maybe I’m a little bit crazy, but I’m not that crazy! I’m hoping to hit at least 3 or 4 posts a week. Sometimes I’ll post photos, sometimes quotes, sometimes stories, sometimes random mumbo jumbo like this, and throughout it all I’ll be keeping up with Friday Fictioneers of course. Only a couple days of the month will be predetermined with special features. What are they? Well I’m glad you asked. Oh, you didn’t? Well you should have, so I’ll tell you anyway. Here’s the plan:
- Six on the Sixth (on the 6th): I’ll share six stories, six words each. If enough of you are interested in this I’d like to make it a group outing of sorts complete with linkup for you all to share in the fun. I’ll add some prompts if it would be helpful for anyone interested. Let me know your thoughts on this, my dearest minions. It’s a great exercise to get the creative juices flowing.
- Creature Feature (on the 13th): I’ll share a tale of a cryptid/monster with an original drawing that represents my interpretation of the beast in question. Warning: some of the drawings may be horrendously bad if I don’t have a lot of time to put into them, but they should at least be good for a laugh if that’s the case.
- Storybook Corner (on the 21st): I plan to make this one a 300 (+/- 25) word story. The idea is to make this one a prompt also if anyone else is interested. What say you, minion? Are you in?
- Destination: Weirdsville (on the last day of each month): I’ll be telling you a tale of one of our planet’s countless mysterious/weird places. Pack your bags and take the journey with me.
Shameless plug time! Pick up a copy of my new short story, Socks, and start your year off right. A room full of 6th graders can’t be wrong. Read the reviews, you’ll understand.
Let me know your thoughts on my prompt ideas. I’ll still be sticking to this schedule regardless, but it’ll be more fun (and easier to stick to) if you all come along for the ride with me.

Sounds great! I’m planning on vamping up my blog too, putting more posts our there, etc. I’m definitely in for the Sixth on the Sixth, and I might even be up for Storybook Corner! I don’t know if I need prompts for the six word stories…I kind of like just seeing what comes to me. But for the Storybook Corner, a prompt would be nice. Let’s get this creative ball rolling!

I love the six-word story idea. I’m trying to stick with my own brand-new writing schedule at the moment, but it’s something I will definitely try in the future! Good luck to you. 🙂

Sounds good! The Sixth on the Sixth sounds like fun, but I forgot so a prompt might help me remember 🙂
I look forward to your monster pictures!
