I almost missed today’s post, but I’ve still got just over an hour to get it in. Plenty of time.
If you have children or have been around children over the past ten or so years. Pretty much if you haven’t been living under a rock, I’m sure you’ve heard of the Wiggles. If you haven’t, its a group of men in brightly colored clothing and a bunch of weird characters singing songs for kids. They’re still on Saturday morning television and have about a billion DVDs out there.
I tell you that to tell you this: I am totally and completely sick of the Wiggles. They get my respect for doing something they enjoy and making a decent living out of it, but they do it too well apparently. My daughter is in love with one of their DVDs and insists on watching it over and over and over. I can’t take it anymore. They could use that thing as cruel and unusual punishment in Guantanamo.
If I didn’t care about my daughter’s feelings I would destroy that evil DVD, but I couldn’t do that to here, so my suffrage with continue. I’m sure the rest of you parents out there feel my pain.
Wish me luck! I’m going to need it!

It is, and she’s watching it right now. That’s why I’m on here haha

the fascination doesn’t last that long really, she will soon tire of them. Try to introduce another dvd or just put in the wiggles and tune out, your natural instinct will let you know if she needs you. fold laundry, write or something so you are near but busy because she will watch untl it is over and not bother you for anything as she is absorbed. relax Dad it’s normal and btw I hate Barney!

Yeah, I usually try to ignore it, but sometimes that’s harder than others.

I thought you might understand where I’m coming from. I don’t think I could tell her they ran away though. I’d feel too bad lol she has me wrapped around her little finger.

The main problem here is that you have a little girl. You admit she has you wrapped around her little finger and you’d feel bad telling her The Wiggles have run away. So much easier, in that respect, to have boys. Boys you have to toughen up. No guilt over telling them Grover’s trash can home was infested and all of Sesame Street was condemned. Now, 29 years later, they obssess over cooking shows and movies like The Dark Knight trilogy and various tv series. Yes, she will one day lose interest in The Wiggles. Then it will be some obnoxious little squirt like Justin Bieber, and then (shudder) the boy down the street…. It never ends, Dad!

The boy down the street is the one I’m really dreading. She can have the Wiggles as long as she wants if it keeps that boy away longer.

Spoken like a true dad!
