I figure I’ve had a post every day this month so far so I may as well keep it going. I’m bound to give up on it eventually, but for now I’ll keep at it. So, here is the thought of the day.
The other day, I ended up watching Mister Roger’s Neighborhood with my daughter, which was a semi-decent show while I was growing up. This particular episode, however, took place entirely in the land of make believe. Growing up I despised the land of make believe. In theory, it was an awesome idea. In practice, the puppets and people were just one giant creepfest, and not the good kind. The characters in the land of make believe were just plain weird and they had odd, high pitched voices that I just never cared for.
Even as a child I was not impressed by the low budget garbage. As an adult, I endured it for the sake of my daughter. One day she’ll realize how truly horrible that place is. The true land of make believe will blossom within her and put that weird castle and its odd inhabitants to shame. Then she’ll realize that watching that garbage was a waste of time. I can’t wait for that day. I want to be rid of that place forever.
I’m not the only one who felt that way about the land of make believe, am I? Please tell me I’m not the only one who could see how screwed up and unimaginative that horrible place was. I can’t be alone here.

Your bitterness toward the land of make believe is almost comical. I never minded, but it takes a lot to turn me off of something.

I’ve never heard of ‘Mister Roger’s Neighborhood’ or the land of make believe but it sounds like one of those terrible low budget programs that aires at 7am.

That’s exactly what it was. Usually was on right before Sesame Street.
