The Horribles is one of those little gems you don’t know what to think going into it, but it ends up being more than worth the read. It’s relatively short but that doesn’t detract from the story. I’m a big believer in making the length fit the story rather than forcing the story to fit into a certain length. This book is a perfect example of that. Adding anything more to the story would have likely taken away from the work and made it that much less interesting.
The story revolves around a reclusive shut in whose parents were murdered when he was a boy and what happens when he finally ventures out of his home. I won’t say any more as I’d rather not ruin it for you, but suffice to say, what happens is definitively horrible.
I picked this up as a freebie during one of its free promotion days on Amazon and I don’t regret it one bit. You never know what you’re getting when you pick up a book that doesn’t cost you a dime. Sometimes they’re garbage, sometimes they’re gems. This book is definitely in the latter category. The reviews on Amazon speak the truth.
Buy it, read it, love it. You’ll thank me later.

Oooo. I value my sleep too much to read. Horror tends to give me nightmares.
